About this Piece
Celebrate your favorite Seahawk with this custom artwork made right here in Wilmington. Each piece is created from upcycled cardboard boxes (thanks Amazon!), various kinds of wood, and quality card stock.
Each of the 13 layers is precision-cut and assembled as a labor of love for our UNCW community.
Some details about this Commemorative Seahawk:
The Seahawk is displayed in an 11x14 linen-padded shadowbox ($40 value) with a sawtooth hanger attached on the reverse.
Customized nameplate with the name and graduation year of someone special.
Includes a back plate with a personal message adhered to the back of the frame

Behind the Scenes.
Each Seahawk takes about 8 hours from start to finish. We start by selecting 9 layers of cardstock, (which will include one layer of sparkle). Next, the 3 basswood layers are stained with maple and oak gel. Then, it’s time to cut, assemble, and frame! Here’s a peek into the process 👇
